(1) Kathmandu University shall be established for the operation of higher level educational institutions in arts, science, management and technical subjects.

(2) The University shall be a self-governing and organized institution with unbroken succession.

(3) The University shall have a distinct seal of its own.

(4) The University may acquire, enjoy, sell, mortgage or otherwise dispose of movable and immovable property such as persons.

(5) The university may file a complaint against an individual as well as a complaint against the university.

(6) The central office of the university will be at Dhulikhel.
